Collaboration

Thank you for your interest in collaborating with the National Museum of African American History and Culture.

The building site has been selected. A core staff has been hired and we are establishing our strategic plan. Great scholarship and care is going into the examination of the nature of our collections and signature programs. Concurrently, we are producing exhibitions, publications and national programming.

Each year we will select and announce collaboration priorities. Potential collaborators will submit a brief proposal. An internal review committee will be convened five times annually to select proposals. If your proposal is selected, the collaboration will be designated as one of the following:

• Capacity Collaboration
• Collections Collaboration
• Creativity Collaboration
• Exhibition Collaboration
• Planning Collaboration
• Programming Collaboration

Because we are engaged with the business of establishing a new national museum, our formal Collaboration Program will begin at a yet-to-be determined date.
